What This Tournament Is
The Four-Family Founders Invitational is a private, invitation-only stroke-play tournament held each year wherever the four families gather for their annual vacation. The host city changes with the trip; the tradition does not. The inaugural year is 2026, contested in Scottsdale, Arizona across two desert courses — The Phoenician and Grayhawk Golf Club.
Format philosophy. Stroke play, no handicaps, played from a single agreed set of tees. A cut is taken after the opening round; the top four golfers advance to play for the title. The format is intentionally simple — the format should never be the story of the day.
The four families. Metcalf, Menday, Overhulse, and Dobes. Every player in the field is here because one of these families brought them. The tournament exists to honor that lineage of invitation.
